Among my many projects, I’ve been slowly turning songs that appear in my books into… actual music! The tenth song from this project has just been released: Bite Me, from the Duo Ex Machina novella #4, Kiss and Cry.
The Duo Ex Machina crime/queer romance novellas feature Milo Bertolone and his boyfriend/music partner, Frank Capriano. “Bite Me” is a song by supporting character Gabriella Valli, a former pop princess who got in touch with her inner rage and now writes assertive, defiant songs about being in charge of her own life – and not taking crap any more!

Lyrics
You take aim at me and think that I won’t fight back
That I’ll turn the other cheek
Well take a shot, big man
We’ll learn which of us is weak
Rough words, attitude, bring it on, try me
Cos once bitten, I bite back
Come on, bring it
Bite me. (Bite)
You think you have the nerve
You think you’ve got a spine
You think that you can take me
Boy, you’re not that fine
And you can bite me
They say the world will be inherited by the meek
I guess they can have that
I’ve got bigger plans
Let’s take this to the mat
Rough words, attitude, bring it on, try me
Cos once bitten, I bite back
Come on, bring it
Bite me. (Bite!)
You think you have the nerve
You think you’ve got a spine
You think that you can take me
Boy, you’re not that fine
And you can bite me (Bite me, bite me, bite me)
Save your breath when you have the urge to gaslight
I don’t hear a word you say
You think that you can hurt me?
I stand to fight another day.
Rough words, attitude, bring it on, try me
Cos once bitten, I bite back
Come on, bring it
Bite me. (Bite!)
You think you have the nerve
You think you’ve got a spine
You think that you can take me
Boy, you’re not that fine
And you can bite me
